The Secretary shall keep the minutes of the proceedings of the Members and Board of Directors; shall give notices in accordance with the provisions of these bylaws and as required by law; shall be the custodian of the corporate records of the Corporation; shall keep a record of the names and addresses of all Members; may sign with the President, or a Vice-President, deeds, mortgages, bonds, contracts, or other instruments that shall have been authorized by the Board of Directors; and in general, shall perform duties incident to the office of Secretary and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to the Secretary by resolution of the Board of Directors.
Maya attended the FBI San Diego Citizens Academy in San Diego, California in 2024 and joined the San Diego Alumni Association Chapter after graduation. Shortly thereafter, she relocated to Washington state. Upon her arrival in Seattle, she joined the FBISCAAA and began attending the alumni association's activities and events, including a tour of the King County 911 Communication Center in Renton, WA; an instructional class presented by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) K9 Unit at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport; and also joined the FBISCAAA trip to Washington, D.C. in 2025, which included a tour of Quantico and FBI Headquarters!
Maya received her BFA in Public Relations and World Literature from Long Island University, then subsequently obtained a California real estate license (1999-2016), and obtained her paralegal certificate from UC San Diego. Maya is a municipal law and code enforcement paralegal with a national law firm, and is committed to civic duties and engagement, as well as civil education and outreach. Maya joined the FBISCAAA Board as Secretary in April 2026, and is dedicated to promoting the FBISCAAA, its activities, events, opportunities and resources to strengthen communities throughout Washington state.
